October 6, 2016 – PDI Surgery Center “Make Kids Smile Awards Dinner”

Their mission is to maintain a sustainable dentistry resource that will serve the low income children of Northern California who need safe sedation for dental treatment, and to provide prevention education and promote oral health. We are proud to be a part of helping them do that! This year we donated an amazing HEARTS ON FIRE Truly 3-row Diamond Right Hand Ring that helped them raise $10,000 for their event…keep smiling!

September 17, 2016 – Volunteer Center of Sonoma County “Desserts, Purses & Cocktails”

554 Since 1972, the Volunteer Center has been the heart of our community; matching prospective volunteers with local nonprofits to help them help others. They inspire thousands of people from all walks of life to share their skills and talents with worthwhile causes and organizations that help our community thrive. We were proud to be a part of their event and raffle off a beautiful HEARTS ON FIRE pendant to support their cause. Cheers!

It supports the only day center in Sonoma County specifically serving homeless and at-risk women and their children. We were also happy to donate a beautiful HEARTS ON FIRE Fulfillment Pendant that was raffled off to a lucky winner!

It is a joy for Ame and the Van Dyke children to go volunteer together and help with serving, babysitting, photos and holiday spirit. Definitely a tradition to be carried on…

December 15, 2013 – “A Very Merry Holiday Pops” with the Santa Rosa Symphony, Featuring The Santa Rosa Symphonic Chorus

Our children enjoyed all of their holiday favorites! This uplifting and multicultural concert featured holiday music from traditional to swing to rock! A full chorus joined the orchestra for special arrangements of “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” “Sleigh Ride,” “O Holy Night,” “Jingle Bells Forever,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies,” and even an audience sing-along where everyone joined in with holiday spirit. It was truly a joyful afternoon of music!

December 7, 2013 – The Bridget Brigade Bash (Winchester, Massachusetts)

Bridgets-Brigade-LogoFounded in the memory of Bridget Marie Dobbins, the Bridget Brigade Foundation (BBF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that raises funds to provide support to families from Massachusetts with a critically-ill child. They have helped families with children who have illnesses such as brain tumors, liver cancer, kidney cancer, ovarian cancer and severe brain damage. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers decided that no place is too far away to donate to when a child is in need! We were proud to donate their signature “pinwheel” in white gold with a center diamond for them to raffle off to raise funds for their foundation.

Holiday Season 2013 – Volunteer Center Giving Tree/Secret Santa

secret-santaWe always have a tree in our entrance, but this year it was graced with many special and important heart ornaments. We were so happy to be one of the Giving Trees in Sonoma County as part of the Secret Santa program and even happier to collect all of the gifts as they came pouring in as well as go shopping with our children to fulfill some Giving Tree wishes! Sonoma County’s Secret Santa has brought joy to people in our community for over 20 years! Sonoma County’s Secret Santa helps ensure that kids, teens, adults, and seniors who would not otherwise have a holiday gift, are able to smile and have hope during the holiday season. The helping hand extended by generous individuals and families to individuals & families in need, ensures that our hearts are connected!

PDI Surgery Center is the only non-profit pediatric dental surgery center in the United State focusing on treating children with severe tooth decay under general anesthesia. Tooth decay is the nation’s number one childhood health epidemic and PDI Surgery Center provides a vital resource for children in urgent need of dental surgery in and beyond the North Bay. PDI hopes to eliminate the pain, suffering, and distractions that living with Early Childhood Caries (cavities) causes. 2013 marked their 5th year in operation and they treated their 10,000th patient!!! E.R. Sawyer Jewelers was at this celebration and donated a stunning pendant to help raise additional funds for this amazing cause!

October 7, 2013 – Mercedes-Benz Dealer Championship sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Santa Rosa and E.R. Sawyer Jewelers

This amazing golf tournament held at Sonoma Golf Club was a charity tournament to benefit Family Justice Center Sonoma County. Family Justice Center Sonoma County empowers family violence victims to live free from violence and abuse by providing comprehensive services, centered on and around the victim, at one location. Building on strong interagency collaboration, they protect the vulnerable, stop the violence and restore hope. They are committed to assisting survivors of:

  • Domestic Violence
  • Dating Violence
  • Sexual Assault
  • Child Abuse
  • Elder Abuse
  • Stalking

The winner of the tournament won an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii for the Western Conference Championship. The team this tournament sent to Hawaii actually WON that tournament as well and will be going to Augusta for the National Championship in April 2014!

September 22, 2013 – Polo in the Wine Country for Junior Achievement

IMG_5695Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Your support not only impacts children’s lives, but provides vital support to economic education in our schools during a time of funding cutbacks. Funds raised from this event provide a range of Junior Achievement in-school and after-school programs to more than 111,000 JA students throughout Northern California. E.R. Sawyer was proud to be a part of this event by donating a beautiful Hearts on Fire “Fulfillment” Pendant to be raffled off. The whole Van Dyke Family attended, enjoyed food prepared by the Maria Carrillo High School Culinary Program and the youngest Van Dyke even rode a polo pony! The picture shows the happy winner of the raffle.

September 21, 2013 – Gatsby Gala Fundraiser

This 1st Annual event was a fundraiser for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). The event was at the beautiful McDonald Mansion and our Starla and Leslie were there dressed in full period costumes to represent E.R. Sawyer Jewelers and our part in the Silent Auction.

August 4, 2013 – Giant Steps Therapeutic Riding “Grand Prix Gala”

Giant Steps Gala 2013 3Located in a beautiful rural setting on a working horse ranch just north of San Francisco, Giant Steps offers life-changing experiences to people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities. Their mission is to enrich and change the lives of children and adults with disabilities through the extraordinary benefits of therapeutic riding and related equine-assisted activities. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers was proud to again be a sponsor at their Grand Prix Gala Fundraising Event. We donated a beautiful custom made diamond horseshoe necklace! Leslie and her handsome beau represented the store in fine fashion and enjoyed watching the amazing Giant Steps students ride in their performance. Inspirational!!!

July 27, 2013 – Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County “Wine Women & Shoes”

Wine-Women-and-Shoes-2013-018We were so proud to be at a benefit with some serious “sole” for Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County. Wine Women & Shoes was an event with 250 wine-savvy, shoe-loving women! They kicked up their heels for the cause as they gathered to shop shoes, sip Sonoma County wines, and nibble on treats from fine restaurants. A multi-designer Marketplace showcased the latest trends and they had silent and live auctions and a fashion show. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers donated the main piece for their “Closet” of prizes. Raffle “keys to the closet” were sold for $100 each and they sold out before fashion show time. Our Hearts on Fire Illa Star in rose gold created quite a stir, and a 9 month pregnant Mommy was excited to be the big winner! She told Ame that she was so happy to have this just as she was about to give birth to her child. We love a “Happy Ending”.

July 25 – August 11, 2013 – Sonoma County Fair “Homespun Fun”

Fair-2013-001The Sonoma County Fair is a hometown tradition! This year’s theme, “Homespun Fun” reminded us of old fashion good times. This year’s donation to benefit the Fair Foundation was a beautiful Diamond Horseshoe Necklace that was raffled off during the Fair for $10 each or 12 for $100 and raised almost $7,000!!! We are proud to support our local community!

June 23, 2013 – The Living Room Garden Party at The McDonald Mansion

photo 4Ame Van Dyke was again excited to be a co-chair of this 2nd Annual “Garden Party at the McDonald Mansion” benefitting The Living Room. The Living Room is the only day center in Sonoma County specifically serving homeless and at-risk women, and their children. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers was very proud to be a part of this fundraiser and repeated their donation of a diamond pendant to raise money for this cause. The Hearts on Fire 18k Rose and White Gold Illa Star Necklace, that was this year’s donation, helped the event exceed $25,000 this year!

May 18, 2013 – Luther Burbank Rose Parade & Festival

6The E.R. Sawyer Jewelers crew along with the Van Dyke Family rocked it again in this year’s “Surf’n Safari” themed 119th Rose Parade! We had a great time putting our best hula skirts forward and being out in the community that we love so much!!!

May 4, 2013 – Sonoma Country Day School “La Dolce Vita”

03Sonoma Country Day School is an independent, coed, prep school for kindergarten through eighth grade. Located in California’s wine country, they draw students from Sonoma and Napa Counties and send graduates to top national and local public and private schools. 35% of the students received tuition assistance grants. SCDS is the only independent elementary school of its kind in Sonoma County. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers has proudly supported SCDS for over 15 years and the Van Dyke Children attend this amazing school. At this year’s “La Dolce Vita”, Sonoma Country Day School’s largest fundraiser of the year, the E.R. Sawyer Jewelers donation of a “Tahitian Pearl Necklace with Diamond Rondelles and Accents” raised over $20,000 for the school!

APRIL 12, 2013 YWCA “Women, Wine and Cheese” Fundraiser

YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

YWCA Sonoma County is ending domestic violence through awareness, education and empowerment.

E.R. Sawyer Jewelers was proud to be a part of this amazing fundraiser. With the donation of a Hearts on Fire 4-row perfectly cut diamond band, retail value $12,000, the YWCA raised $15,600 in raffle ticket sales! We also attended, and with our amazing and generous friends, help raise thousands of dollars more in the silent and live auctions. We love Sonoma County!!!

March 16, 2013 Cardinal Newman’s Annual Event “007 For Your Eyes Only”

Their students learn to apply leadership skills and talents in service to others. They challenge each student to work to his or her highest potential in the lifelong pursuit of learning and excellence. It is near and dear to the Van Dykes as both Doug and Ame Van Dyke are alums of the Cardinal Newman Family. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers was proud to donate a gorgeous Hearts on Fire Illa Star Pendant to help raise money at the school’s major Annual Event fundraiser. The necklace went to an excited Suzie Friedman!

March 16, 2013 Sonoma Academy’s “Big Night Out”

Sonoma Academy is a college preparatory high school in Santa Rosa. It calls for its students to be creative, ethical, and committed to learning. The school nurtures inspiring teachers and engages with the surrounding community, and its students communicate across cultures as they prepare to become leaders in a dynamic world. Their “Big Night Out” is their largest school fundraiser of the year. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers is proud to have been a part of that event for many years now. This year, with a “Bollywood” theme, E.R. Sawyers donated 2 pieces of world renowned designer, Marco Bicego. Both the bracelet and necklace were in 18k brushed yellow gold. Congratulations to the big winner, Nancy Lasseter!

March 13, 2013 4C’s Fundraiser

ERS March Events 002The Community Child Care Council of Sonoma County – known as 4Cs – is a non-profit agency located in Sonoma County, California. 4Cs operates 12 child development centers and preschools throughout Sonoma county and has a central office in Santa Rosa. 4Cs is dedicated to supporting and providing quality, accessible and affordable preschool and child care services for children, families and child care professionals through education, resources, and direct services. Riley Flanagan, an eighth grader at Sonoma Country Day School, put together this fundraiser where she raised over $12,000! E.R. Sawyer Jewelers was proud to donate a Heart on Fire Illa Star Pendant to help raise money for the cause. Riley, her sisters, Lola and Ruby, as well as one of the Van Dyke’s daughters, Paris, helped sell tickets. The ever lucky winner was JK Farrow, a friend of the family and a friend of E.R. Sawyer Jewelers. Way to go Riley on a great event!!!

March 9, 2013 St. Rose Annual Event “A Night at the Oscars”

The school is a vital educational ministry of Saint Rose Parish devoted to assisting each student to reach his or her full potential spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and physically. The St. Rose Annual Event is the largest fundraiser for the school. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers was proud to be at the event and donate a beautiful ¾ ct round brilliant diamond. Congratulations to the happy winner, Karen Sieroncinski!

Save a Sweetheart Ball – February 8, 2013

Save_a_Sweetheart_BallThe “Save a Sweetheart Ball” is an annual Valentine’s event benefitting the American Heart Association. This celebration, held at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek featured dinner, wine, and dancing to Wonderbread 5. With the help of E.R. Sawyer’s Hearts on Fire Diamond Heart Pendant, the American Heart Association raised $10,000, plus the Van Dyke Family donated 2 defibrillators to the community for another $3,000. The happy winner of the Hearts on Fire Diamond Heart Pendant was Sofia McKnight! Congratulations…

*Statistics on external defibrillators show that the faster a defibrillator machine is used on victims of cardiac arrest, the better the chances of survival. The survival rate dwindles by 10 percent each minute after cardiac arrest begins when the patient does not receive defibrillation. However, cardiac arrest patients have a survival rate up to 49 percent when a defibrillator is used within the first five to seven minutes after the attack. Heart disease is theleading cause of deathin the United States. People of all ages and backgrounds can be afflicted with this disease.

Montgomery High School Education Foundation Crab Feed January 26, 2013

winnerWhat a fun crab feed! Crab, wine, salad, amazing chowder and wine flowing. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers was happy to be there to help the Montgomery Education Foundation raise money for Montgomery High School. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers helped by donating a Hearts on Fire diamond Fulfillment Pendant for raffle. The raffle made over $3000 and The Montgomery Education Foundation will now be able to fund many teacher grants, fund a special campus wide project, allow every department a supply budget, since there is no money from the district for that second semester, and allocate additional funds to upgrade antiquated technology on campus. We were proud to be there!

New Imagethe danceThe Active 20-30 Organization of the United States and Canada provides young adults with an opportunity for personal growth, friendship and leadership development while improving the quality of life for disadvantaged children in their community. The Redwood Empire Club #1029 puts on a number of fundraisers throughout the year, including an Annual Crab Feed in January. The proceeds from these events are donated to charities that benefit local children in need. The Ladies of #1029 recently put on their most successful “Crab 4 Kids” fundraiser, raising over $35,000 to support Sonoma County Children’s Charities and the Club’s hands-on events, including the Annual Kid’s Spree and Kid’s Christmas Experience. Over 400 tickets were sold, and guests dined on fresh crab, pasta, salad, and bread. Guests were also able to bid on a variety of silent auction items which were donated by local businesses.E.R. Sawyer donated a Hearts on Fire diamond Ila pendant for raffle, and sponsored a child, helping to raise $5,000 for the club!

We feel so blessed to have the advantages that we do and our children love to share their day with these new friends and help them enjoy the holiday spirit!

November 2012 Julie Nation Academy 40th Anniversary

Julie Nation Academy is a Sonoma County modeling school, acting school and personal development school that provides educational services to students from four years old to senior citizens in small classes and workshops to accelerate the placement of confident, skilled and knowledgeable graduates in the advertising, entertainment, fashion, and acting fields. Their Personal Development program is fit for anyone who wants to better their life skills! Julie Nation Academy celebrated their 40th Anniversary November 2012, and we are all so lucky to have Julie and her inspirational business in our community. E.R. Sawyer donated a ruby and diamond necklace as ruby is a symbol for that milestone. The happy winner, Ali Quattrochi is all smiles as she is presented with her new necklace! Both Ali, and her daughter Capri model with Julie Nation Academy.

July/August 2012 Sonoma County Fair Foundation

The Sonoma County Fair is among our region’s most time-honored and cherished traditions. It began in 1936, when local leaders Joseph T. Grace, Ernest Finley, Emil Kraft and V.G. Garrett joined forces to create a race track and exposition center to showcase the abundance of Sonoma County. Throughout the last 75 years, the Fair has grown to become one of the most popular in the state, famous for its top quality horse racing, stunning flower show, and constant innovations in family entertainment. The Sonoma County Fair continues in their unswerving commitment to showcase and provide education on the wealth of our agricultural community while celebrating the talents of our community. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers is proud to be a sponsor of the Sonoma County Fair and this year provide a Hearts on Fire pendant for raffle. The funds went directly to the Fair Foundation. June 2012 The Living Room Garden Party at the McDonald Mansion

The Living Room is the only daytime drop-in center in Sonoma County specifically serving homeless and at-risk women and their children. Through donations and grants, they are able to meet some of the needs of their participants by providing them:

a warm and safe atmosphere to be during the day when shelters are closed,
a nutritious breakfast and hot lunch,
a first step for women on the verge of becoming homeless,
a first place for at-risk or newly homeless to turn to for relief and referral guidance to other community agencies,
a place to obtain information tailored to meet individual needs, such as job search skills, mother and child education, health care knowledge, etc.,
essential hygiene items, food items, and clothing for women and children.

May 2012 Luther Burbank Rose Parade

The Luther Burbank Rose Parade is one of Sonoma County’s most honored traditions and one of the oldest and largest events of its kind in Northern California. E.R. Sawyer Jewelers has been proud to sponsor and/or walk in the parade for many years!

February 2012 Sonoma County Farm Bureau Crab Feed

Farm Bureau is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary not for profit organization of farm and ranch families united for the purpose of analyzing their problems and formulating action to achieve educational improvement, economic opportunity, and social advancement and, thereby, to promote the national well-being. Farm Bureau is local, county, state, national, and international in its scope and influence and is non-partisan, non-sectarian and not-secret in character. Farm Bureau is the voice of agricultural producers at all levels. The Sonoma County Farm Bureau is the county’s largest farm organization. E.R. The two clubs in Santa Rosa are the ladies of #1029 and the men of #50. Doug Van Dyke is proud to have been President of #50 and now a Past Active Life Member. PDI Surgery Center is a non-profit community based organization and dental surgery center that treats children with severe tooth decay under general anesthesia. Girl Scouts 100th Year Anniversary!

This year, Girl Scouts celebrated its 100th Year Anniversary! Girl Scouts provides girls and young women, ages 5-17, with the life skills that will enable them to reach their full potential. E.R. Sawyer co-owner Ame Van Dyke has been a troop leader for 4 years and both of the Van Dyke daughters have been involved as well as Daisies and then Brownies. E.R. Sawyers was proud to donate a Girl Scout charm for the fun Santa Rosa celebration MC’d by KZST’s Brent Farris. Here are the Van Dyke girls with Brent Farris pulling the big winner!

Threads for Teens Event 2012

Threads for Teens’ goal is to help young, less-fortunate girls build their self-esteem, confidence and give them hope. They accomplish this through the gifts of clothing, support and education. E.R. Sawyer donated a 14k white gold charm bracelet with a 14k white gold tiara charm to their dinner event to raise funds for this worthy cause. See the happy winner!

August 2011 Giant Steps Therapeutic Riding Fundraiser

Giant Steps Therapeutic Riding is the only year-round premier accredited therapeutic riding program in the North Bay Area. In their state of the art facility, they provide life-changing therapy that is clinically proven to be effective, and best of all, it’s fun! Riding and caring for horses can be a powerful tool for healing individuals of all ages with physical, cognitive, emotional, and developmental challenges of all ages. E.R.
